Mig: Can anybody recommend an oil for the gearbox and the differential on my 2000 Spider Veloce, year 1974?
Person A: I've used the Redline synthetic stuff in the gearbox and diff for several years, noticeable improvement in gear shifting especially when cold, (especially 2nd) , use the NS for the box and non NS for the diff , its not cheap but unless you have a leak its good for many years.

Person B: You can get the Redline 75W/90NS for the tranny (as well as the 75W/90 normal for the diff) in Denmark too.

The NS improved shifting in my S4.
Mig: Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs! Does any of you have experience with the use of Castrol Classic EP 90? That's what I've been recommended by others.
Person A: I'm sure it'll be fine in the gearbox but not suitable for the LSD [Red.: LSD = Limited-slip differential, dvs. bagtøj med spær (ikke et trip fra 60'erne!)]
Person C: As above, you musn't put it in the axle. You have to use an oil suitable for the limited slidiff.
Person D: Whilst it will not help the OP, last oil change (which reminds me.....) I switched to Penrite for gearbox, axle and engine. I wasn’t so happy with Redline and have found Penrite as good if not a little better.

… Og så havde Person D i øvrigt denne fede signatur:
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you won’t understand".
Hvis de gode menneskers ord skal tages for troende, så betyder det bl.a., at Castrol'en ikke bør bruges til bagtøjet, men derudover gjorde det ikke valget meget lettere.
Nogen kommentarer?
